My Day at the Zoo

I had a great time today at the zoo. Daddy, Nana and Great Grandma Cox took me to see the Butler basketball players wash the elephants (Mommy had to work). Coach Stevens was even there to make sure the players didn't get hurt. Check out the pictures below.

I really liked all the animals. The elephants are so big and they skin is very tough. I thought the giraffes and rhinos were pretty cool too. We had lunch with the ducks and flamingos and I said goodbye to the seals as we left.
I can't wait to go back soon.

Sunday Morning with Mommy

Mommy and I got up early this morning. We were spending some time together working on words and things. She wanted to share some of the things I've learned so far:)

More to come.

Weekend at the Stephens

Mommy and I had another great weekend at Grandma and Grandpas. Mommy was on vacation this week so we spent some extra time in Southern Indiana. Grandma really enjoyed our visit. I really like to be at Grandma and Grandpas. They have so many neat things that I don't have here in Indy.

One of the days, Mommy and I hung out with cousin Dwayne on the farm. Since they have had so much rain, the Fueger Farm is behind on planting corn. Mommy and I rode around with Dwayne so I could watch him plant the corn. We'll visit the field again in the summer so I can see the plants growing.

Another day, Mommy and Grandma had a bridal shower to go to. I got to hang out with Uncle Rodney. It is always fun to be with Rodney. We played in the water, went 4-wheeler riding and took the dog down to the pond for a bath. (I'm not really sure that Teddy got a bath because the water was really dirty. But he seemed to enjoy it.)

Grandpa and I enjoyed riding on their big lawn mower. It is really neat because it goes around in circles. Daddy's lawn mower doesn't do that. Check it out!

Well, I'll write more soon. Eveyone take care!

Civil War Days at Conner Prairie

I had a great day today at Conner Prairie. My friend, Cameron, gave me the personal tour. Thank you Cameron!

We started out at the Animal Encounter barn. There were chickens, goats, ducks, etc. They even had baby animals. Mommy tried to get me to pet them but I wasn't so sure about them.
Next we went to the candle maker. Daddy and I dipped a candle. I can't imagine making candles to see at night. I guess I'm a little spoiled with electricity.
We went on to the Union camp and then the followers camp. There were even kids there my age. Wow- I would have been so bored. Thank goodness my mommy and daddy live in a house and have indoor plumbing.

On our way to see the Cavalry we ran into Abe Lincoln. Well - maybe not the real "Abe" but Daddy said he looked just like him.

Hopefully next year Grandma and Grandpa will come. They would really like it.

I'll write more soon.

Trip to Grandma and Grandpa's

I enjoyed another weekend at Grandma and Grandpa's.

Here are a few highlights:

Uncle Rodney and I spent lots of time on the four-wheeler.

I spent some time chasing Grandma's cat, Tiger.

I'll write more later.

Spring Break 2008- Part 6

I've been feeling much better! Today was our last day in Florida.

We got up early and went on a long walk. We watched a Navy ship come in to port. It was really neat. I waved to the enlisted men and women and they waved back. Here is a picture of me and Daddy with the boat in the background.

We had a great final day walking along the beach and swimming in the pool. Below are a few pictures from the trip that I couldn't download while in Florida. It gives a good summary of my vacation.

The day we arrived. I really like our hotel room.

SunBlock, who needs it?

I was so tired, I fell asleep at the lunch table.

One of my favorite spots this week was in the fountain.

I really liked the pool but they made me wear this stupid hat! How can I pick up the chicks with this thing on my head?

Hope you all enjoyed my vacation. I did!

Spring Break 2008- Part 5

I'm not feeling so good today. I woke up in the middle of the night with a fever. Since I didn't feel good, Mommy let me sleep with her and Daddy until this morning.

We woke up and went to the pool a little while but that didn't last long. I came up, had lunch and decided to take an early nap (basically I passed out in Mommy's arms).

After my nap, I had a doctor's appointment. The doctor was really nice but I felt horrible. I had a 103 degree temperature. No wonder I felt bad. They said my ears and everything looked fine and I probably had a virus of some kind. Great- no medicine, only Motrin.

Luckily the Motrin worked miracles. I felt better in no time and enjoyed blowing bubbles with my cousin Brookie on the patio.

No pictures today. Trust me- I didn't look my best.

More tomorrow.

Spring Break 2008- Part 4

Lots going on in the Burt condo! Brookie and Courtney arrived on Saturday so Brookie is giving me a lot of action. I like to watch her and do the same thing she does. She is a great cousin.

I was so excited to see Brookie this morning I got up at 4 am and then to stay at 6 am. I had a little breakfast and Nana took me to the playground so Mommy could have a little break. I had lots of fun. We came back just in time because it started to rain.

To pass the time (and the thunderstorm), Brooke and I watched a cartoon. Really Brooke watched it and I ran around the condo getting into anything I could get my hands on.

The quote of the day from cousin Brooke, "Look, I'm a movie star!"

Finally the rain passed and we were out at the pool before lunch. Check out the picture and video. I was really tired once we went up to the condo for lunch. I fell asleep at the lunch table- a little embarrassing.

After my long nap, the whole gang went to the beach. Daddy really enjoy the ocean. I enjoyed watching him and getting in with him and Mommy. I also enjoyed making bubbles on the beach. I did it all by myself.

Another good day in Florida! I'll write more tomorrow!

Spring Break 2008- Part 3

I slept in a little this morning so Mommy and Daddy could get some more sleep. They are on vacation so I'll let them relax a little, but not much. So much to see and do I can't hardly contain myself.

We all went on a walk this morning checking out the surroundings. Daddy got a new backpack that I fit in. I like it because I can see everything that they can.

We headed down to the pool and beach to check out what was happening for the day. The pool is like a great big bath tub! They also had a waterfall. I really liked the waterfall but I slipped and hit my head so I didn't get to play in it as much as I wanted to. So we went to the beach.

I'm liking the ocean more and more. When Mommy walks down toward the water, I follow her. If she says it is okay, then I guess it is okay. Eventually Daddy took me in the water. Wow! It was cold but fun.

Here is a picture of me playing in the sand.

More to come. Cousin Brookie and Aunt Courtney arrive later today.

Spring Break 2008- Part 2

We got up early and went to breakfast. I just couldn't wait any longer to get outside!

Today we went on a long walk before we checked out of our hotel. Here we are enjoying our walk.

We met Nana today in the new hotel. Our room is really nice. I like to run around and check out the balcony. Here is a view from the 19th floor. We can see the intercoastal waterway and the ocean!

Mommy, Daddy and I headed to the beach to play with my new beach toys. I'm really not sure of the ocean. Daddy likes to play in it but I would rather watch it from afar. We only stayed out a little while because we had already had a long day.

Another day in paradise. More tomorrow!

Spring Break 2008

Yes, I know it has been awhile since I last posted. We have been very busy with school and new teachers, getting shot by cupid for Valentine's Day, hopping around with the Easter bunny and watching the NCAA tournament (I'm so sad for my Butler Bulldogs). I hope my posts in the next few days will make up for it.

Mommy, Daddy and I arrived in Ft. Lauderdale yesterday to begin our vacation. We flew down and boy was that fun. Mommy said that I have been on a plane before but I was too little to remember. Mommy said I was a very well behaved boy. I only cried when Mommy and Daddy tried to put me to sleep.

I'm loving the sun and fresh air! Mommy, Daddy and I went to the beach and played with this stuff called "sand" as soon as we got here. It runs through my fingers and I can't keep a hold of it very well. We also played on one of the jungle gyms. There was another little guy playing, he was 18 months, but not very friendly. I tried to go make friends but he didn't want anything to do with me. Here are some pictures of me and Daddy having fun.

Well, gotta run. Going to bed to get ready for tomorrow. I think we are going to the beach again.

My Day at Conner Prairie

As promised, I wanted to share some pictures of my recent trip to Conner Prairie. Mommy, Grandma and I had a great time. Thank you to Cameron and Barb for letting me play!!

I wish they had a real horse but this will do for now. Oh what fun!

I'm a regular John Wayne, Pilgram.

Anybody ready for the Indy 500? Do you think Tony George will hire me soon?

I think I have sponsorship potenital.

Mmmm. Finally some food.

Mommy said that this is how baby cows eat. Hmmm. Interesting.

I'll share more later!

My 1st Birthday

Wow! This thing called a "birthday" is great. Besides it being all about you, there is cake and presents!! Check out some of the pictures of my celebrations.

Nana came over on Sunday to celebrate my birthday. She brought me an ice cream cake. Mmmm. It was very cold but oh so good. We also opened gifts from Nana and Cousin Marianne and Dennis. They always send really neat things.

On my birthday, Mommy took the day off to spend it with me. Mommy, Grandma and I had a great day (Grandma suprised us with a visit). We made a trip to Butler to see Butler Blue and some of Mommy's friends. We also went to this place called Conner Prairie. They had a place called the Discovery Center. It was closed but Mommy knew the "right" people and they opened it just for me. It was a lot of fun. I milked a cow, played on a tractor, rode a car, etc. Mommy said we will go back. I had a great time and can't wait to see the baby animals next summer. Maybe I'll share some pictures in future postings.

We got home right before it started to storm. Can you believe we had a thunderstorm on my birthday in January? Mommy said that is very unusual. We ate and started to open gifts when we received a tornado warning. Mommy and Daddy were really freaked out and looked out the window a lot but everything was okay. All and all, I had a great birthday and really enjoyed the cake even though I kept the house up from 1:00 am to 3:30 am that night :)

On Wednesday morning we enjoyed my 1-year pictures before I went to school. Check out a sneak-peak at my pictures.

My birthday continued with balloons at school and a gift from Aunt Courtney, Uncle Eric and Cousin Brookie once I arrived home. Check out my new chair from the Harpers.

This birthday thing is really fun. I can't wait until I can have another one.

My latest Butler game

Today was a busy day. I got up early with Mommy (6:30 am). Mommy fixed a great breakfast (blueberry waffles and turkey sausage- mmmmm). Daddy decided to get up to run some errands with us before the Butler game.

So this was my third Butler game. To be honest, I was kind of bored, even though it was a great game, because I really wanted to walk and climb the stairs in Hinkle. Mommy and I walked around Hinkle while the crowd roared. We enjoyed the Bulldog hospitality area and I could walk around a little. I even got my picture taken with my buddy Blue II, the Butler mascot, and my new girlfriend, Kristen. Check out these pictures.

So we ended our day with a big Butler win and if you can't tell from the next picutre, I was exhausted. More to come soon.

Trying to Walk

Sorry it has been so long since I last posted. My friend, Butler Blue II, reminded me that I need to update you on what has been going on. Butler Blue II is a neat friend. He is the Butler University mascot and is so popular he is on ESPN. Everyone wants to meet Blue. You can check out his blog at http://www.butlerblue2.blogspot.com/. He is really funny. I hope I can blog as well as he can some day.

I haven't been feeling myself recently. I think another tooth is on its way and I might have a touch of a cold on top of that. I really hate it when my nose runs. Mommy has this thing that she sticks up my nose and it sucks all the air out of me. I guess I can breathe better after she does it but I really like to fight with her to do it. I don't see her and Daddy using that thing, so why do I?
So Mommy tells me that I'm transitioning at school to a new class soon. Mommy is sad but she says that the next class has big boys and girls who can walk and they have art projects and everything. That should be fun. I'll make a nice mess for my teachers. My friend Cassie is already in the class and she tells me it is crazy. They only take one nap a day and even sleep on these things called "cots". Doesn't everyone sleep in cribs? I'm really not sure about these cot things but I guess if the big kids are doing it, I should too.

Mommy and Daddy likes to video tape me doing various things. They said that one day I'll appreciate it. Until then, I can share the video with my family and friends. Here is a video tape of me with one of my favortite things, the stairs. I'm trying to walk even though you can't really tell with this video.

Well, I gotta run. It's time for sleepy time and Mommy says that I'll have more pictures to share soon. I know that is what you all want to see.

Later,

Robbie

Baby New Year (a.k.a. Robbie Burt)

Wow! What a great New Year's Eve and New Year's Day!

I went to school on New Year's Eve for a few hours because Mommy had some work at the office and Daddy had to work. I was happy to see my friend Cassie. Today was her last official day in our room even though she spent part of the day in her new room (She is moving up because she is already walking. Boy, I will miss her.) Mrs. Colby told Mommy how I walked around the entire school with my walking toy. Cassie saw us from her new room and was sad. Oh well. She shouldn't have started walking so quickly:)
Mommy and I went home to find Daddy home already. His boss let him off early for New Year's Eve. I was excited to have a special dinner of salmon and green beans! Mmmm. Good. And then we took a few pictures because I couldn't stay up until midnight. That is way too late for me. I think Mommy and Daddy rang in the New Year with Juneau and Jazz'r (that is okay with me, the puppies are always jealous that Mommy and Daddy spend all their time with me).

While Mommy and Daddy was ringing in the New Year, I was deciding when to get up in the night. I thought 3 a.m. might be good:) Daddy came in and helped me go back to sleep.

We had a full day today. I decided it was time to get up at 6:45 a.m. Mommy and I went down stairs so I could have my bottle and Daddy stayed in bed. Mommy, Daddy and I went to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. They say that will be our new tradition.

Besides shopping, we played a lot today. I guess Daddy and Mommy cleaned out some closets but I was busy playing with my toys. Mommy also chased me and I really liked that. I liked it so much that I wouldn't take a nap so I am extra sleepy tonight.

Well, it is time for sleepy time. The New Year holiday is great! I'm looking forward to next year already. Happy 2008 to my family and friends! My birthday will be here before I know it.
